Lawrence Worsley who is more widely known by the name, Dublin, was born in Connecticut, raised on the side end of Stamford. As a child he knew that he only had two options; take up the ways of his environment or rise above it. His love for music was his escape route from a life that would result in him behind bars. Drawing his inspiration from artist such as The Notorious B.I.G, Jay-Z and 50 cent among others, looking at their lives seeing how they grew up in similar backgrounds, but turned the negativity into strength. It was the way they told their stories of pain and overcoming that drew him in. Dublin knew he had his own stories to tell, stories that had to be heard. Singing had always been his first passion, using his voice to sing stories of love. But when he was fourteen, he started to take the style of his idols and tried rapping, discovering that there was another way to express one’s self. With this story telling, he grants the listener a vivid image of what he raps about, allowing them to see the world in his eyes. This was his vision as a child, to be able to let a crowd of people, even if it’s just one person to jump out of their mind and sees things in a different light.
From this method of rapping, Dublin has been able to journey out of Connecticut, and into the tri-state area, taking his talent to New York. Dublin isn’t only known as a rapper/singer, he also makes his own beats, which contain that very same level of emotion as his lyrics. The shows only opened more doors for him, as he became the opening performer for various artist such as; Stylez P, Jadakiss, French Montana, Red Cafe, Kid Ink, Chris Webby and even Kendrick Lamar. For Dublin, it isn’t about how many mixtapes he can sell, or how much money he can make from a show. It’s about the people. They are who help him continue to pursue his dream, just by seeing a few hands held high when he is on stage.
Dublin currently has several mixtapes out and more on the way, each containing their own stories within them. These can be downloaded for
